Who does reenactment?

Our Regiment has people from 6 to over 60. Single guys and girls; married couples; families and people in their retirement.

Just as they would have done in the day our ranks are filled with people from all walks of life.

Why do they do it?

They all love reenactment for many reasons:

Perhaps above all it is the sense of belonging, the camaraderie and the feeling of family.

And that look on people faces when they ask you what you did at the weekend, when all they did was went to the supermarket or watched TV. Lots laugh, then ask where they can see you do it!

How can you get started?

We’re here to help with advise and with the loan of clothing and ‘kit’ to get you started.

It’s not for everyone, so just come along, give it a try and see what you think. Be warned though, many of our Regiment have gone from one day trial to full-blown reenactment addict almost overnight!

What would I be?

Pike. The senior arm of a Civil War army. For the sturdy and the strong. The pike close with the enemy and clash in what is known as ‘push of pike’.

Musket. The emerging skill as guns start to dominate the battlefield.

Civilian. Like any Civil War army the camp followers are a vital part of camp life.

Living History. Total immersion. Learn and re-create the skills and crafts seen in every day 17th Century life.

The Sealed Knot
